day 14 for inktober! some ICO love. And apparently you can give yorda a watermelon at the end yet I dunno how.
Inktober day 2
Imagine your OTP/3 at Disney World. No drama, no death, just Mickey Mouse hats.
(Sycamore does not take off the Mickey Chu ears ONCE. Lysandre buys every single piece of The Pyroar King merchandise he can find.)
Okay not an OTP really unless puppylove counts, but I’m imagining headcanon!Wander taking teeny Ico and Yorda to Disney Land somehow and it’s very cute.
(Wander and Ico can’t wear ears because of their horns, but Yorda does and jokes that she has horns now, too! Also the guys end up kind of overstimulated and stressed so they all have to spend some time unwinding in some quiet corner at some point/s.)
"They tried to sacrifice me because I have horns. Kids with horns are brought here. Were they trying to sacrifice you too?"
30 Day Video Game Challenge → Day 30
Favorite Game of All Time → Ico
I don’t know how to adequately put into words how important this game is to me. It’s two kids, who have no idea what’s going on, who don’t even speak the same language and have no reliable way of communicating, trying to find a way to be free. I can’t believe I’d never played it before last year
Imagine your OTP adopting a child together, and the moment they meet/hold the child for the first time.
i know not very many of my followers can answer this question (and if you can’t and you know someone who can, maybe reblog it to them) but does anyone know what this art style is typically called? ive been looking around for a while now.
I’m writing an analysis of 8 games for class; basically talking about what makes them special, their formal (players, goals, procedures, rules, conflict etc.) and dramatic (challenge, play etc.) elements according to T. Fullerton, the graphics, and I might also compare them a bit. If any of you love any of these games, it’d be awesome if you could say what you find special or interesting about that particular game (and feel free to mention any of the topics that I listed above), I’d love to hear your opinions!
Settlers of Catan
I’d be eternally grateful if anyone responded to this. c: You can either reblog this and answer or write a text post and tag me, or just send me an ask~ If you want a promo or something in return, just say the word! xx
You’re in luck because I’m in a massive Team ICO kick, so let me tell you about ICO.
I didn’t play ICO until about ten years after the release, and only after Shadow of the Colossus, so my feelings about it aren’t driven by childhood nostalgia, and I just recently played through the PAL version included in the ICO and Shadow of the Colossus collection.
It’s really clear, now that I have, that folks in the NTSC region were massively shafted during the game’s PS2 days, and yet the NTSC version is still an incredible experience. (Cutting for length and spoilers)
So, ICO: Castle in the Mist is a pretty good little book. I enjoyed it, anyway! It gets to be a pretty divergent AU by the end (and not just because Shadow of the Colossus hadn’t yet been developed at the time), but, honestly, isn’t that the best part of Team ICO fanfiction? Everyone’s different interpretations?
Honestly, I’d recommended it to fans and non-fans alike. Like the preface says, don’t expect a walkthrough - the backstory is greatly expanded, the castle’s layout is different, and the ultimate ending is brought about in a much different way.
That said, it’s actually surprisingly easy to retcon Shadow of the Colossus into the book’s story? (Spoilers for ICO, ICO: Castle in the Mist, and Shadow of the Colossus below the fold.)
Do not, I mean it, Do not imagine your OTP in the kitchen cooking breakfast together, one standing at the stove as the other is hugging them from behind, resting their heads on the back of their neck and stealing sleepy kisses. I promise this will cause fluffy-cuteness overload and it’s not good for your health.
I’m imagining a campfire in place of a stove but NO IT’S TOO CUTE
Whoa, I. Actually got a pretty good bit done on Legends Yet Untold (aka The Big Depressing Wander Story) last night.
It seems to be one of those stories that works better written in patchwork, then stitched together.
Has anyone sat down to translate the runes on the final weapon in ICO? It has the same look as Yorda’s language.
Yorda and Ico are very precious and must be protected
